here’s to the next adventure

There’s something, dear reader, that I have hinted at but haven’t quite said. Though day-to-day living and wedding preparations and fresh fruits and veggies do fill much of my mind and many of my hours, there is more than that bumping around up there in my head, and right here in my life. This is a very full season, fuller than I’ve said outright.

Because along with getting married, we are moving.

Yes. That’s right. We. Are. Moving. (!!!)

We are heading across the country, all the way to California, seeking something new, an adventure all our own. After our wedding and a short stint in northern Michigan, we will pack our remaining belongings and drive across the country, landing in the East Bay, just shy of San Francisco, before the summer ends.

I have only six workdays before I am done with my job, my first great-big-working-world job, an experience that has been such a significant part of the last three years of my life. It boggles the mind. And as of about a day ago, we have an apartment in Oakland, which, I think, makes all of this official. We just got back from California, where we spent an exhausting and exciting handful of days that ended with our acquiring a lovely little place, a place to call home. More on that later.

But in the middle of this chaos, I wanted to at least let you know that last bit of our big exciting news. I’ll be back with food sometime soon, I promise.

And in the meantime, here’s to the next adventure, whatever yours might be and whatever ours might become. xo

  2. That is BIG news with LOTS of transitions! Sounds like everything is falling into place though. :) God is in it all and will most certainly be walking with you and Ben as you embark on this journey together that He has planned for you!

  5. Congrats on finding a place! I’m so glad to have stumbled across someone who is going through the same process as me, although it looks like you’re well ahead as we have yet to start apartment-hunting or even wedding planning in earnest. It’s all on the horizon though!
